Rare Original Large Pair Hand Painted Marbro Mid Century Modern Porcelain Lamps
A pair of large hand painted Marbro mid century modern porcelain baluster lamps. These elegant lamps are beautifully hand painted with various kinds of flowers and leaves. The yellow floral and leaves design are set on a white ground accented with black detail. These tall magnificent lamps would add a touch of grandeur to your home. Each lamp contains the original Marbro label as shown in photos. Each lamp weigh 10 pounds and measures 39 inches to the finial, 20 inches porcelain and 8 inches in diameter. Marbro lamps are treasured by the rich and famous and collectors alike. Th e Marbro Lamp Company was established by Morris Markoff and his brother after World War II.
Their first shop opened soon after the end of the war, located in the garment district of Los Angeles. They specialized in a wide selection of antiques and decorative arts accessories, but are best known for their lamps. The lamps use parts sourced from all over the world, however, and were assembled in their shop.
Production continued under Masco until December of 1990 when the assembly plant in Los Angeles was closed. All the remaining inventory of Marbro lamps moved to another company, LaBarge Mirrors in Michigan, which was also owned by Masco... Lamp shades are not included.
